I wonder if PowerfulUK will start selling the trim finisher/ insert to close the cut out for the recovery rings separately from the rings.
I posted this reply I have received from LRCS yesterday in the wrong section regarding buying the recovery rings from your local dealership Who might refuse to fit them too..
So if you get told that they aren’t for your version it’s a load of crap, they need to take out your VIN and registration number from their search Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Mine is finally on a ship! ETA in Durban is 25 August.
Back on topic I ordered the recovery rings through my dealer with no issues at all. Price was reasonable in context too. |

Curious to read in the JLR iGuide that none of the provided options for vehicle recovery are apparently for off road use:

never noticed that, bit of a poor show by LR not to be making recovery points suitable for an offroad vehicle more likely than any other in the range of products to be used offroad! It will be interesting to see what the aftermarket specialists come up with. I think whoever wrote and proof read the iGuide may have made a few mistakes.
The screw in rear ones I can understand being for on road recovery only but what they call the exposed eyes must be suitable for off road use given the type and number of fixings and the design of the loop. In any event, it may be worth asking the Customer Relations guy for clarification. The Namibian crew used the rear exposed eyes off road, and I think I have seen JLR video of the front eye being used with a double line pull with the fitted winch. |

The accessory description is “rear recovery ring” on the parts system no mention of on/off road suitability. The other thing no load rating is mentioned on the U.K. documentation but I believe under USA product liablity regulations it must be declared to American buyers so it will be interesting to see what an American owner can tell us. It was the same with the Discovery3 and L320 RRS with the mega eye welded onto the chassis where the removable tow hitch slotted in. LR wouldn’t say what the load rating was for UK owners, they had to state it for US buyers and we were surprised how strong it was.
