From what autocar are saying it looks as if they will be using bmw 3.0d as found in the 530d known as the B57 so it will probably be mated to the zf8hp |

Like it and might well plonk for one, maybe a little underwhelmed with the styling its what I would have imagined a Chinese copy of the defender might look like they could have gone a little more individual and maybe then not have to worry about JLRs legal bouncers who are no doubt in a very long meeting this morning. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

Now the skirt line is starting to impress me ~ looks strong, clean and able to take a few knocks without ripping off large sections of superficial plastic.
And JATE rings, it has JATE rings both front and rear. |

given Ineos seem to be flush at the moment maybe they should buy Land Rover out of the JLR tangle they are in. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

I'm over that, they did have plenty of time to do it right and kept choking. It was well past or get off the pot time for them. |

I like it. Looking forward to seeing the inside.
The grille/bonnet is a bit bulbous but if it were any squarer then it would be almost indistinguishable from a Defender! If the engine/drivetrain are as good quality as expected, then it will be a cut-price G-Wagon. |

They haven't released that kind of detail yet. This exercise was just to show what it'll look like. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

I think it looks great an amalgamation of the Defender and G Wagon and proof that Land Rover or McGovern was full of it with the line they took about not being possible to keep the Iconic shape and functionality of the Defender alive. The interview with Toby Ecuyer the designer of the Grenadier was brilliant none of the pretentious tripe we had to listen to from McGovern. Toby GETS the fact that every owner will want to adapt the vehicle to their individual taste and needs and they celebrate that and include it in the design criteria.
My only slight dislike is also the front grill does look a little out of proportion but I am sure there is sound reasoning for that. Well done and all the best INEOS. |

This gets my vote!
While it does look slightly "copycat" from some angles, what else did anyone really expect? Ineos did try to get the design rights for the old Defender after all. It was always going to be a boxy 4x4 with design ques taken from the other proven utility 4x4's. But its all about whats underneath and a car built from the ground up by engineers and not designers is a win in my book! Plus you can buy it online |

It looks very impressive and purposeful. Get the build quality and the price right and I’m sure they are on to a winner.
