Do a bit of a search on injector seals.
They sit on a copper washer that is prone to causing a few issues |

It looks wet around the injectors? Esp 3?
A diagnosis is obv difficult on here but the parts to replace the seals are cheap so i would be doing them next if it was mine. It’s been a couple of years since I did one but if I remember correctly it’s not a bad job to do if you go steady. You don’t need to replace the fuel lines. Just the copper washers plus new stretch bolts and I seem to remember replacing some small rubber o rings on a few pipes. I used a small file/seating type tool to clean up where the washers sit. I will put a bit more info up when I got a bit more time Hope you get it sorted |

Thanks. It is for sure wet there but can it explain the excessive oil consumption?

Mine has 70K miles on it and uses none between changes.
The injector seals leaking aren't causing that much loss - in fact I believe they are leaking combustion product not oil as such. With zero frame of reference with your particular vehicle does it smoke at all? Smoke on overrun would suggest valve guide oil seals, smoke under load could be oil being burnt, providing it's the right colour (blue-ish I believe?). I don't believe excessive oil consumption is common on these engines though, so worth investigating. Others may have more / better ideas. |

Mine turned out to be a snafu'd turbo....
Oil leaking from inter-cooler pipework junctions and also getting past the turbo seals, exiting as smoke via the zorst. |
