Emergency lane keep assist can be completely switched off in the collision avoidance menu, they recommend switching it off when towing or going off road. Down side is it has to be done every time the car is restarted.

What I'm reading here about the LKA sounds positively dangerous. I certainly wouldn't be buying one of these based on what's already been posted here. LKA not being disable-able, LKA and TR settings not being retained, and an already outdated screenwash system. Completely unacceptable and would drive me nuts.

I didn't realise the bonnet wasn't solid under the awful plastic chequer plate stuff.

As far as I’m aware it’s metal underneath the plastic.

According to Simon in the video, all he drilled through was adhesive tape and plastic, so clearly to bonnet is not solid. It must have holes.

Why was the driver's headlight LED lights flashing?
When I was watching this every so often I could hear my self urging the driver to give it a bit of welly. But I suppose you cannot intervene with the new technology.
I noticed a lot of wheel spinning to get a bit of traction.
My heart went out to the following vehicle which was stopping in some odd places while the Defender found it's way.
The Jeep in front seemed to have no bother but it did not look like a stock vehicle. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

You don’t need to use the technology on any of LR’s modern cars with a transfer case, just leave it in highway mode, select low range and drive it like an older model without electronic programs- if you manually raise the suspension and manually set /deselect HDC (or leave it off even) and disable DSC, all the new cars can be driven without the TR and added electronic equipment that’s there to make life easy if you want. When I’m teaching folks new to Land Rovers that’s where I start, not by showing them what TR can do as it often confuses newcomers to off-road driving when they have the impression that you have to use TR all the time, you don’t and it can be much more fun not to use the driver aids.
The headlights and sidelights flashing issue is to do with the camera taking the video not the car

It’s the way some LEDs react when on camera. I’m sure somebody on here will have the full explanation.

He must have got lucky and drilled through one of the holes the trim clips into.

I’ve switched it off in the centre touch screen menu and it looks like the “switch’” stays off.............. until you stop and start Big Cry I can see this car is going to end up with a pre-trip checklist of things to disable before starting out on even a very short trip....... Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

But JLR don’t make you sign a disclaimer that you won’t sue them if you get the virus in a showroom! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

The “Jeep” in front was a NAS soft top Land Rover 90 - you see it side /3/4 on right at the end.......... maybe that’s why it doesn’t look like a stock Jeep and did well!.............. I wasn’t sure what the white with black bonnet one that was following him, Disco1 or P38A. On other modern Land Rovers you also get an element of wheelspin while the computer works out which wheel/S to brake/ send drive to , I think it would work way faster that the human brain to detect any wheelspin with more throttle Used by a human too. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

There appears to be two holes in the outer skin underneath where the plastic trim lines up, and two holes in the inner skin:
