Durite aren't original, they are an aftermarket supplier, but there is nothing "wrong" with them as components.

Best bet if you can is to photo what you have and what you need to replace.

I decided to fit my new relays and plugs.

I replaced the 2 yellow relays and plugs. Removed some strange solder extensions in the wires!

The Black relay in the picture which is cable tied to the loom I wanted to fit a holder and fasten in the box properly.

Some wires are a bit too big for my new spades but I think I got them nicely crimped...but these ones are far too big?
(Brown Wire)

So I found some bigger spades but didn't realise as I was rushing that they are smaller. Tried to fit the plug and noticed that the relay has 2 big spades and 2 smaller ones.

Not sure what this relay is for and whether its correct to have bigger spades? I have attached a picture.

I've given up today as it's too cold Sad

Some of the plugs where badly corroded and one wire snapped in my hands and one pulled out because of a bad crimp so think I may have found the source of my problems Thumbs Up

Thank you for your help and patience. I've been off the tools so long and on my own. I don't want to ruin my poor Land Rover with my own incompetence Sad

#EDIT#
These are the plugs spades I'm using from 3waycomp.

As far as I can remember, there are only two uses of the 70A relay you've got there on a Td5 (it is the correct relay).

One is the glow plugs (C0215 in photo below). This has brown and yellow/black 6.0mm² wires (the large power ones) and smaller brown/orange and green/blue wires for the coil.

It should be clipped next to the fuse box as shown.

The other (C0508) is for the ABS pump which you may or may not have - probably not as you only mention one. This has brown/white and brown/red 4.0mm² and 3.0mm² wires (the large power ones) and smaller black and white/orange wires for the coil.

The socket (YPP10005) isn't available from LR nor can I track it down anywhere else.

3way components don't have the same holder as the original part either but they do have an alternative kit:

I can supply YPP10005 with terminals to suit up to 6mm² cable.

Thank you Martin.

I've now ordered the relay base from them and the following relay;
Automotive Relay 12V 70Amp 4 Pin Normally Open - Genuine Tyco/TE Part

It looks like the new holder/socket does not hook only the tabs in the relay box, which is a shame.

Hopefully I can get it all back together nicely! It's the first time in over a year the Land Rover has had time off Rolling with laughter I Feel guilty having it all in bits! Thumbs Up

Thank you for your reply Paul. I didn't see it until I had ordered. I will drop you a message as I may want one as the one I ordered I don't think fits the tabs in the box. Plus I might want some spares. Thumbs Up
