Removing trailer socket?
Could somebody tell me how easy it is to remove a standard 7-pin black trailer socket? I'm guessing it has a multi-plug into the main wiring loom somewhere? Is it just a case of unplugging it and pulling the wiring through? It seems to run inside the O/S chassis rail.

I removed my towbar years ago because I have no need for it, but the trailer socket was left in-situ. Now doing a refurb of my rear crossmember and the socket is in the way and had the thought 'why don't I just remove it?'.

Any assistance appreciated! 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

if its the same as a Puma then there is a multi-plug up behind the OS rear light, accessed from the wheel arch by removing the plastic mud protector..........

It should go to a multi plug up behind the plastic crud guard where the light fittings are, above crossmember on os, if it's a genuine one.

On a 110 there is a multi plug by the filler.

If its aftermarket it sill be spliced in somewhere. Inside behind brake light possibly on os?

Just trace the wires back Cheers

If it's spliced or the mulitplug is crudded solid you could secure it up out of harms way with cable ties > 110 XS Double Cab
