Rear speakers are a great improvement over the original pair. I ran with them for a couple of weeks before I fitted the sub but it's the sub that really makes the difference. Highly recommend fitting one if you like your music ... "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did..."

Making new mounts out of MDF was easy, created a cardboard template, jig saw and some glue and all done. Once I get the carpet on it hopefully will look like it's ment to be there "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did..."

I had upgraded my speakers (not the twweters) some considerable time ago which improved the sound of a standard head-unit. I still kept to 10cm speakers as I didn't want to cut the existing orifices on what was a relatively new vehicle. Fitting an upgrade head-unit and an Alpine slimline amp improved the sound quality no end, however at higher volumes the speakers could not handle it. By fitting a subwoofer the lower frequencies from 40-400Hz (normally) are then processed by the subwoofer amp thereby taking the strain away from the remaining speakers. I was sceptical how good a subwoofer may be, the sound now is abolutely brilliant. Anyone considering installing a subwoofer would undoubtedly not be disappointed with the results in my view!

What brand subwoofer are you using? Markh and dgardel look like you have the same unit. I bought a clarion but might need to replace it as it takes too much space.

Mines the Alpine SWE 1000, comes with everything you need, bracket even allows easy securing to the cubby box. All the cabling sat under the box out the way "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did..."

just as Mark says - an easy fix. just been in and out of London this morning and enjoyed music all the way.
my only issue with the Alpine is probably my ignorance but i find that you have to tune the sub for some tracks but i assume that could be due to the quality of the original recording into an mp3 format? ![]() ![]() |

Have my remote in the same place, have a JVC headunit connects to my iPhone via Bluetooth for the music, I agree can depend on the track for quality, some of the bit rates vary. "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did..."
