LOF Powermaster Install tips
Ordered one yesterday. Installation takes 25mins says the website, but given that it took me a couple of weeks wrestling the assist spring into position, has anyone got any tips on this?!!

Do you mean the powermaster (master cylinder) or the powerspring (pedal spring)? Perhaps you bought the kit containing both parts?

Remove the clutch pedal box to change the master.
Straightforward mechanical job, bleeding the system can be challenging for novices.

^^^ That's what I did - pedal box out. Makes it a breeze really.

Mo - what do you mean it can be challenging to bleed for novices? Mine is bled, and working, but wondering if I've missed something, as I can have novice tendencies on occasion....! Donald

Don,
Challenging in respect that it can be difficult to bleed completely on first attempts. Once you've done a couple you know what to expect. I find driving it for a while helps, some like to hold down the pedal overnight or reverse bleed.

Unbolt the slave cylinder, hang it downward with the bleed screw open ,
Press the pedal down and keep it there , keep topping up the fluid , shouldn’t be far away by then Thumbs Up

Thanks - not aware I've had an issue really, but I did this recently as I had to change the pipe. All seems to be working fine - I was just curious.

Co1 - you'll love it when it's fitted. I have both the spring, and the powermaster, and the net effect is such an easy pedal. Donald

I don’t know what the hell im doing wrong, but I can’t even get the mats back to access the bolts for the pedal box!! LOF website reckons this is a 25 minute job!! I can only assume they’ve never don’t it on a puma! Once the pedal box is loose, does it even fit past the brake lines?

The mats do get in the way !
I'm not sure how mats are secured in the puma. I done it up to TD5 and the rubber mats are secured by a metal strip across the bottom of the dash/ top of the footwell. The screws on the strip need slackening to allow the top edge of the rubber to be eased out and pulled down. This will then allow the pedal box bolts to be accessed.
Be patient, work methodically. It's not difficult but does require thought especially if you haven't done it before.
