opened the gwyn Lewis package today. well i need to move her outside to spray the chassis and as I broke the fuel housing I have time on my hands!

Any one else tried his new poly track rod and boots, they replace the rubber std ones, meant to last longer, thought they were worth a go. Cheers

oops, bought a webasto cab heater, well it's going to be a big space to heat when rear is all enclosed! now that wasn't on the list. a little ebay find seemed a shame not to take the opportunity!

Ashcrofts are just putting together a nice rear diff for me. hypoid low pinion. same as my 110. Cheers

What rims are those Darren? Mach5s or copies do you know? I am going to need better lock!

They look like Zu's.

If you want better lock then I can recommend them. Fitted a set of them to my 110 and will out-turn a standard 90 now, that's on 265/75R16s rather than 235s.

If you want worse lock then go for a Sandringham!

Have you not thought about leaving it as a tray-back / pick-up and having a demountable camper on the back? I'm planning on building something like that for the 6x6, a bit like what Leigh & Steph have with GrizzlyNBear - has the benefit you can set up camp and go off exploring without having to lug the camper around. Ed

i did think of the demountable option. reality is i need a closed in back for 90% of what i do so dont want to run it as a pick up anyway. still working through rear cab options.

still waiting on filter housing today so finished calipers off in the hour i had in the wksp. Llama4x4 hoses arrived now as has Craddocks order so can do the rear discs/wheel bearings and get the replacement calipers on, will also change the rear flexi for a braided one.

these will be going on the front, chassis direct to caliper so you have one less join and can take caliper off easily.

Gwyns new poly TRE covers, meant to last longer than the std rubber ones which last two mins if they contacts anything off road!

Gwyns drag, track rods and steering guard to go on, probably after the front locker has gone in to save guard coming on/off/on

Have some crud guards to fit as well!

There are two jobs i dont rush to do. One is taking a drop arm off the steering box the other is waxoyling!

Weather was good so today was the planned day for the waxoyl, outside to reduce mess and cleaning up! Slight issue, broken fuel filter housing so a faff to tow it out. Part was due yesterday, message from retailer this am to say should be with me tomorrow!

Tow rope it was then, got my 11 year old to tow me out!

Turned out to be ok waxoyling in the end, ran it through a compressor spray gun after warming waxoyl to ease flow.

It went so well in fact I then cracked on and fitted the front mud shields

Then filter housing turned up! Fitted tank end pipes first, after refilling filter, then connected front pipes, thankfully she fired up and ran a dream, no fuel bleed required!

would do if i could turn it out of my driveway..... need some zero ET rims! ZUs or wolfs!?

both discs are lipped and caliper pistons not going back in so although she stops really well currently, they will need doing so time to do i think - whilst i seem to have this spare time! Cheers
