Been sat for nearly two years, so looks much worse than it was.

Gets washed every year for the MOT whether it needs it or not!

It was a tank made by Foleys when I had the first galvanised chassis fitted, gives a nice extra range, but think a td5 tank may have been a better option, it can be very difficult to fill, it only tops up the main tank, not plumbed in for fuel return etc, so not as versatile as a true second tank. 80" 1948

to be fair they have not hung around with it but not ideal to drop it on the floor like that...

chassis doesnt look to bad considering you only wash it once a year and the foley tank looks like its lasted well

how many ltrs is it and does it fit to std mounting points as that will be useful to some one if your going back to std set up this time.

plenty of wax inside the doors this time round as well

are you having the axles balsted and painted or just a quick swap over to the new chassis?

The chassis is completely shot underneath, too dangerous to drive!

The tank should last well it cost enough, made of stainless, about 45 litres, so not as big as it could have been, think it was just the simplest tank they could make, it is all going back, the tank, discountable hydraulic winch system, split charge, the lot.

The axles are being blasted, new seals and painted.

The side doors are in my workshop, primed, three layers and painted, three layers, new seals and locks. Military style two piece.

The rear door is being replaced by Tayside Land Rover. 80" 1948

Where is the hydraulic pump for the winches as I cannot see a pump in the normal place on the PTO output on the transfer box

cool what paint are you doing the axles in?

tank looks good to be fair i had one made a while back for my 90 and it wasn't as good as that and in the end i took it off as it was to a tad low for off road use.

are you doing anything to the engine or running gear while sits on the floor clutch etc?

The winch has an engine mounted pump, will replace it with a transfer box mounted pump when I get the car back.

The tank sits nicely out of the way, I also have a tank guard that follows the chassis profile if doing serious off road work. I am having the seals replaced on the crank, I think the clutch is good, but will see what it looks like once it comes out.

Everything is on a budget, so somethings will be left till later, but the majority of work will be done during the swap. 80" 1948

Ah see the pulley now for the pump above the fan pulley, where aircon would have been.

I live about twelve miles from the coast, it has never been into the sea. Still undecided about additional coatings for the chassis. Like everything, cost is a factor!

I used Jotun hardtop flexi a marine 2pac paint on my chassis, I know I haven’t done any mileage with her yet but the coating seems excellent so far and wasn’t that expensive Thumbs Up 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html
