The death rate stats should all be read with great caution. Germany has a very low death rate. They test a lot (so high infection rate detected) and it's mostly been young people infected so low death rate. Data we need to look at (not sure it's available) is death rate by age bands for those hospitalised. |

A daughter of good friends is now a Doctor and works at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, she just sent a link to :
COVID Sympton Tracker app - C-19 https://covid.joinzoe.com/ Which she has asked to be circulated around. I just downloaded it and registered. I requires a daily update which will greatly help in tracking progress of the virus. Check it out and consider it please, Regards Dave |

They had that on the box a few nights ago, UK only. 60% of deaths were in the 40-50 and 50-60 age groups Combined. In my book (47) that’s not ‘old’. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

If that was ‘policy’, and the fuzz were cutting about with their drone pinging people all over the place, then I’d be against it, they’ve got other stuff to worry about. If, on the other hand, it was a one off, it is actually quite a useful exercise that should be used by all police forces/the government to amplify what ‘essential’ means and how to act properly (as the majority are) under current climes and current restrictions. Whether we like ‘big brother’ or not, the masses listen and do the right thing, but the minority do what they want, because they: A. Know more than the specialists or the rest of us B. Think they’re more important than the rest of us C. Think it is funny D. Don’t give a f*** All of the above are unacceptable in most circumstances, but when people’s actions could directly impact the health of others, even more so. I’ve always been a believer that as an adult you can do literally whatever you want. Whatever your fad, hobby, choice or perversion. But under ONE caveat: that in doing so you don’t impact or affect a third party, especially detrimentally so. Example: Do drugs if you want, get wasted if that’s your thing, but do so knowing the provenance of the drugs you’re using. If you’ve grown your own weed, or if you’re really clever and a bio-chemist, who can make your own MDMA, brilliant. Go for it. Spend your days zoned out. But if you’ve secured your drugs through a dealer, ergo you’re the ‘end user’ in a supply chain that has experienced violence, torture, murder, trafficking, people smuggling, sex slavery and (at the lower end) is non taxable so billions of pounds that could be used by the government for schooling, NHS etc are lost, then no, unacceptable. The actions of these people, whilst less directly impactful, has the same mentality. They’re more important or know more than the rest of us. A***holes. So, as a one off video, useful to highlight the problem. But no more than that, they’ve got better things to do and spend their money on.... Had a read of that and whilst the figures seem incredulous at first, you then have to factor in the the role of the President as an institution to rally around in times of need. It seems to be a trait that's at the very core of what being an American is all about ~ country, flag & President are all very strong symbols. |

If you've not done so, I thoroughly recommend watching "Wag the Dog" starring Robert de Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Woody Harrelson, Willie Nelson etc. It's a brilliant insight and a very funny/disturbing/satire of the US government, spin doctors and how the US public think. It's up there with "Idiocracy" on the funny/disturbing/satire stakes Incidentally, Idiocracy could well have come from a clairvoyant moment about Trump... Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
