Following on from DISCO3/4 I thought I would start up a Coronavirus discussion/help thread.
On there we have separate threads and sections but for now let's see how we get on with a single place. This thread is for general discussion about news & developments but please keep politics out of the mix. I am currently happy for light-hearted posts, jokes etc to be put here to lighten the mood and raise a smile. As ever, nothing offensive Also please offer advice/tips/best practice or ask questions about what to do if unsure. But take care to only share confirmed good advice, not hearsay, viral Facebook posts etc. Such posts will be removed as they are likely to cause more harm than good. Remember - for all medical concerns please consult the official GOV.UK pages: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus If you are in need of local assistance - either for yourself or for vulnerable relatives etc - then please ask. Please don't flood it with offers of assistance, as finding who is where and can do what will end up being a mammoth task. Post up details of what you need and where (ideally put the location in the subject), and I'm sure we as a community will do what we can to. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

For those worried about food deliveries:
https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ne...s-17965986 "Shoppers will pay one single price for a box full of shopping, though you won't get to choose what's inside. The contents of the boxes are completely random, but the supermarket has promised that they are full of the essentials you'll need. There are two different types of boxes available - one for meat eaters, and one for vegetarians. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there are boxes available for those who are gluten free or vegan just yet. If you want to order one of the boxes, you'll need to create an account on the Morrisons website by entering your name, email address and a password. Or, if you already have a Morrisons online account, you can use your existing details using the ‘log-in’ button. You’ll then need to tell Morrisons which type of box you would like, either Meat or Vegetarian, you can order up to 2 boxes per order. You can select a delivery date that suits you - Morrisons says it can deliver the next day If you order before 3pm, but at the moment be aware that delivery times could vary. Your food box will be delivered by DPD who will send you a confirmation including a tracking number, so you can keep up to date with your delivery." |

I'm self employed and, although i've kept working, business has been getting quieter until 11am this morning when i became self un-employed for the forseeable future. Mrs Whirly90 gave me a list of things to get from the supermarket and luckily i got them all, despite a lot of empty shelves. There seems to be enough food for everyone but, not necessarily what you were actually looking for. Everybody should be able to eat fresh healthy food if they're prepared to eat what the shops have rather than what they want.

I'm confused.
I thought we were only meant to work if either a key worker or absolutely necessary? However the Health Secretary just stated those who cannot work from home should go to work "to keep the country running". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52022417 WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

You won’t be running UK for long if not following the rules.
Totally flabbergasted by the stupidity of people in London transport. Guess they are all suicidal. |
