No voltage on pin 9???
Bought a ctec charger to trickle charge the battery whilst my 90 Xs puma is sitting in the garage not being used.
Also bought the futuranet adapter for the 13 pin towing socket.
Ctec charger was not sensing the battery voltage and after 2 mins switching to power default mode - blinking green.
Have checked with a multimeter at pin 9 on the vehicle socket and there is no voltage present???
Is there a fuse to check or is it direct in line to the battery???
Pin 10 is live with ignition on, return is on pin 13.
I tow a trailer and have never had issues.
Have checked wiring and nothing loose or missing.
Any suggestions please.

Is it a genuine LR 13 pin electrics pack or aftermarket? Genuine will have LR logo on the socket cap.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Thanks for reply.
No, it doesn’t appear to be. The socket cap hasn’t got anything on it. It was already on the vehicle when I acquired it.

Pin 13 is the earth connection for pin 9 which is the permeant live which will not show up as faulty under normal towing. I have seen what some installers do if the socket does not have the manufactures connectors fitted which is to either fail to connect pin 13 if only used for trailer sockets or bridge the other earth pins together in one connector which is too small leading the three earths cable's fall apart. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Check Fuse 2 in the seat box fuse box (20A), also the single pole connectors with fat purple cable near the brake servo.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

It's always great to know when a problem has been solved and what action was taken to solve it. Looks like Martin has come up trumps again. Thumbs Up Defender 90XS SW
