Advice with heated front screen?
My 2014 110 has the heated front screen, however I can’t tell if it’s actually working or not at I haven’t had a misted up screen yet! However I know the windscreen was recently replaced just before I bought it. The question is: should there be a warning light picture of the front screen come up on the warning light panel when it is switched on? Because there is when I switch on the heated rear window, but not with the front one.
So could someone with a heated front screen tell me if there’s when switched on shows a warning light for it? Thanks.
My gut is telling me this isn’t working and I need to know before it’s warranty expires

No, there isn't a dash warning light for the front heated screen. Only the telltale on the button. Darren

As LRA says, only the orange LED on the button itself. If this is on, the timer and relay are providing the 12V feed to the screen.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Just take a cup of very hot tea into your truck, hold it close to the windshield to let it mist up, and see if you turn on the heated screen if it will demist quickly. Do this test in a few spots left to right as it is known that sometimes certain portions of the electric heating wires inside the screen will fail. You can afterward even still drink your cup of tea if you like. Laughing

put the tea at one end so you can see the difference between the working part and the edges of the screen where there are no wires!

how can you live in the UK and not know if its not working through not having the need! snow and frost here testing mine currently. Cheers

Rolling with laughter I live in the ‘California’ of the UK - Suffolk and at night it’s under cover so it’s not been cold enough to give me the chance to test it! I drive it daily.
I’m going to do the tea test! As yes the putting does light up and go out after about 10 minutes

Surely it could be tested with a multi-meter? Or, is the current draw not enough to pick up?

Will check if the heated screen works upon departure from the French Alps on Saturday early morning. Smile
Never had the opportunity to check before in St Tropez! Smile
