No, there isn't a dash warning light for the front heated screen. Only the telltale on the button. Darren

As LRA says, only the orange LED on the button itself. If this is on, the timer and relay are providing the 12V feed to the screen. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Just take a cup of very hot tea into your truck, hold it close to the windshield to let it mist up, and see if you turn on the heated screen if it will demist quickly. Do this test in a few spots left to right as it is known that sometimes certain portions of the electric heating wires inside the screen will fail. You can afterward even still drink your cup of tea if you like.

put the tea at one end so you can see the difference between the working part and the edges of the screen where there are no wires!

I live in the ‘California’ of the UK - Suffolk and at night it’s under cover so it’s not been cold enough to give me the chance to test it! I drive it daily.
I’m going to do the tea test! As yes the putting does light up and go out after about 10 minutes |

Surely it could be tested with a multi-meter? Or, is the current draw not enough to pick up?

Quite big current draw that heated windscreen. An electric guzzler really.

Will check if the heated screen works upon departure from the French Alps on Saturday early morning.
Never had the opportunity to check before in St Tropez! Click image to enlarge |

Heated screens are good, but perhaps not that good
