Halo Drls..
Evening...got a work colleague thats recently purchased some of those Halo Headlights that also have the indicator. Now he wants to know where under the bonnet he can find a live for them.

Can you help him ...its a Tdci.... Putting Dreams on Drives at JLR Solihull..

The appropriate Live is the feed for each headlight or indicator or sidelight element that he wants to pick up, so indicators need chipping in to the appropriate loom on each side.
If you want the DRLs to come on with the ignition then you need an ignition live. I believe that there is an IG live that runs to the heater motor but best to have a look on a wiring diagram.

I just tapped into that.

The DRL is pulling milliamps, and the blower wiring has plenty of headroom for the additional pull from the DRL controller.

All above is fused at source, so really very little risk.

If he runs the ignition live for the DRLs through a normally closed relay and then triggers it open with the sidelight feed then the DRLs will switch off with sidelights.
