Can’t remember the part number but I bought it from the dealer. Unless you insist on avoiding the dealer at all cost they won’t cost you a lot.

Due you mean the short seal on the wing next to the bulkhead?
If so it’s P/N LR038612 |

Funny, I bought my MY2009 90 2.4 new, and there is no such seal on mine (maybe because it's LHD? None of the LHD ones I've seen have that either)
I've ordered one for each side, always thought something was missing there! “A Land Rover immobilized is a moral defeat for the driver and bad publicity for the vehicle, […] it's up to you to do justice to your Land Rover!” - Land Rover Driving Technique. -- 2009 2.4 Puma Defender 90 SW 1979 Land Rover Series 3 88" |

My LHD has them. One was about to fall off however, so I put some dumdum inside so they stick to the wing.

My 2007 Puma has never had them. Do they do anything useful?

they stop (...or at least reduce) water cascading down from the wing tops onto the bulkhead in engine bay in torrential weather.
I added a second one and stopped the ingress via the blower gap https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic47380-15.html |

yep. I've also put some dumdum underneath the gap between wing and bulkhead.

Hmm, I've never found the former to be a problem, and I have a properly fitting heater duct, so I guess the answer to my question is "no"! They seem to be rather expensive for what they are. I guess if I managed the last 12 years without knowing that I needed a pair, I probably don't! |

No, since personally I find that fellow completely insufferable (not intended as a criticism, please note).
