Jeep Gladiator 2020 & Wrangler PHEV
Just been given a copy of the German mag "Auto Bild"
The most interesting thing in it is the 2020 New Models calendar.
In November the Jeep Gladiator will be launched in mainland Europe, followed by the Wrangler PHEV in December.
It usually works that LH drive Europe models are launched first, followed a little later by the RH drive markets.
This is due to RH drive selling in smaller numbers.

I must admit, I didn't think the Gladiator would come to Europe because it is a huge vehicle.
This begs a lot of questions;
Which engines will the Gladiator have? Hopefully V6 for both petrol and diesel options.
What are the details for the PHEV drive in the Wrangler?
Costs?
When will they arrive in the UK?

Something to look forward to. Thumbs Up

If they upgrade the payload to European specs (1t) then it would be quite tempting.
Even better a PHEV with full time 4x4.

Unfortunately Jeep is going up with their prices and we see more Jeeps on the street than in the woods. Furthermore if Gladiator comes to Europe it will be similarly priced as a Porsche, and will be sitting next to one in a fancy garage.

At least it will have an adequate non Fiat engine. Defender 110 SW MY2011 2.4tdci decat, no EGR

Saw a few Jeep Gladiators when we were in Florida over Christmas.

They look good in the flesh, same width as the Wrangler but with the longer bed at the back.

And of course they come with a soft top option with canvas replacement roof too! Unfortunately did not get any pics.... Cheers Don.

Seems that in the States the (non-PHEV) Gladiator is not selling as well as expected - the $33.5K starting price is being blamed:

I'm not sure how it works regarding local taxes on top of that $33.5K over there, but looking at the Jeep UK site I'm guessing the basic non-PHEV would start a couple grand more than the LWB Wranger, so around £44K here. Which still seems cheap compared to a new 110!

Great advertisement! I was a bit worried when the doors were nicked (just like a Defender) but they were clearly returned later. Rolling with laughter

^^ totally agree, a great advert, for a fun vehicle, with a sense of humour.

No pretentious, premium verticality there.
