Hopefully it will become much more common place thus affordable, LR indys offering conversions and other new conversion specialists opening etc. Its certainly better for the environment to convert existing vehicles and it means we can keep driving our classics , electric certainly would have some advantages
That said, I will miss the combustion engine |

Still not sold on EVs and do not have the money to buy one or convert the defender.
So you all must be rich...able to convert your existing defender or buy a new one The review of the Jag shows that the technology is not there yet and is not user friendly (trying to download APPs etc) also shows poor infrastructure. Are you truly convinced EVs are the way forward and are good for the environment? |

No, I am not rich, far from it, hence why I emphasised the affordable aspect, I certainly could not afford anything like the prices at the moment
And again, no, I am not convinced it's the best thing to do environment wise, but I fear its the only way to go with the way things are going. I think it's a watch this space scenario.... |

EVs are not a silver bullet but they are a good step forward. They leave the pollution problem back at source where hopefully focus can be made to improve it rather than spewing it around the environment. For every improvment made at the energy production sources all the EVs can take advantage we don't have to wait until new engines filter through the ownership chain like with ICE.
EV, Hydrogen and others will all have a part to play. Infrastructure will not support it for some, its perfect for my use case as we use it for commuting and charge it at home. That doesn't work for everyone yet. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE RR MY23 HSE PHEV D5 MY19 HSE - Now Sold D4 MY16 HSE Luxury - Now Sold D4 MY12 HSE - Gone D3 MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten |

Have a look at this and re-evaluate...

Mr K in the UK there are other bigger suppliers, if you told me BP had put up diesel prices by say 30%, I wouldn't be scrapping my Defender but just filling up at Shell, Q8, Asda, etc.

Blimey, lots of folks obsessing over the snorkel in the comments
It did seem quite noisy but it's difficult to tell how much was the electric motor and how much was LR gear whine. Just imagine if JLR had invested, say 20% of their annual marketing budget, in doing things like this...
