Ours start to arrive next week!
Spent Saturday checking the pens, clearing the electric fences of debris and checking they’re intact (then someone’s spaniel always checks they’re working) and moving bags of feed pellets into feeders/barrels. Knackered. The other week we moved 14 tonnes of wheat into the feeders and bins. ....and I’m only a half gun this year. |

Where do you shoot Doc? I had a gun at Noverton, before that at Oakhampton (Crane estate), and now have a few days here and there locally plus the odd trip to Devon or Scotland. It’s getting daft moneywise now and I can see myself doing more picking up than shooting in time. Looking forward to the season starting 👍

Yes, partridge.
They actually had their first day even earlier - last Friday. I didn't go. |

I only purchased mine for my stalking trips. I have fabricated a couple of frames for weighing deer for the carcass tags which work pretty well.

I was picking up at the weekend and have a lift in my 90 to a delightful lady of advancing years. She struggled to get up into it (no steps) but would accept any help. She then wondered why the 90 was higher than her and her husbands 1961 series Land Rover that they have had since it was new 👌. No idea whether it’s a 2 or 2a, long or short. I’ll find out on Saturday. There can’t be many one owner 1961 vehicles knocking about!!

Not the first time an old 90 has had to recover a much newer L200 - this one was only 2 weeks old when it had a very close brush with barbed wire fence!

As an owner of a 1961 Series Two, I agree. If you could get photos of it that would be nice. |
