so upping tire size looks to be an issue. i'm sure in a year or so there will be kits to swap out the air suspension for a full spring/shock lift unit. maybe then a 33" will fit. maybe fender liner will need to be modified.
and regarding the longevity, if the new defender was taken care of and ran the amount of mileage these well kept series II LR's have and even older defenders have, then the new one will last just as long. i see some members posting 100k on their 2000 defenders boasting the condition they are in mean while they've replaced tons of parts and have had the body worked on. i'm sure the plastics on the new one can easily handle 100k over 20 years. |

Maybe, maybe not, you certainly won't be sticking anything larger than that on. Like I said initially, it's not for me, not when I could buy a top of the range Rubicon unlimited that's a serious bit of kit straight off the shelf, that I can alter/modify, is a far better looking vehicle (in my opinion), for the same price as the lowest spec 110. You pays your money etc, etc, all boils down to what you want to use it for.

You can push bits of it in. But this maybe because it’s pre production. I understand it has to be pedestrian friendly. So no metal bumpers etc. It’s an extremely comfortable steering wheel but have no idea what spec it was. Not one Landrover employee spoke to me or asked what I thought. The electric towbar is an expensive option and to me seems pointless. I’d rather have a permanent one with a bash plate behind. If you took a trailer off with the ram not fully out, I feel it would puncher the rear bumper. I might still be interested in the 90 but have a feeling that will be very small internally. The 110 isn’t massive inside there isn’t a great amount of space. This maybe an issue for some more than me at 5ft7. |

the electric tow bar is not approved in 🇦🇺, so we get the standard tow pack
With tow hitch receiver. One concern I have is whether my current Thule Bike carrier upper frame will clear the spare wheel or do ii need to get the tow ball attachment bar extended to provide clearance . I was wondering if There are a number of tow attachments out there that may need to be modded due to their height .. first world problem yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

Up at the dealers this evening to view it.
I’m pretty pleased with it, this one looked better finished and felt solid. Quite liked the colour, Pangea Green, but still not a fan of those wheels though. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

find out if they suffer from any electrical issues, my sons Grand Cherokee had significant issues where it just cut out, and its a known fault, and a friends 5 door wrangler had an issue where it just would not restart after any length of journey.. Jeep knew about the issues but always seem to give a no fault found answer yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

The plastic in the back of the boot and covering the 6/7 seats is awful. Will look battered by the end of the first month. 1951 80" S1 2.0

That’s so that your local friendly dealership can sell you a full length rubber mat at £500 a pop to protect the fake checker plate....... there’s method in their madness. I would be paying a visit to the local carpet warehouse for a £20 piece of checker plate pattern Lino offcut instead....... Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Maybe looks bad but feels very robust. I was more impressed with the quality of this one than the one at the Halewood event. |

The reaction of old Defender, D1-D3 and old Range Rover owners when I took my RRS and L322’s on quite challenging offroad days was also totally negative........... until they rode in and saw what they could do in great comfort and with so much torque then they soon shut up and we’re more than a bit surprised. That I could do it using TR on factory issued tyres amazed them more! I don’t doubt that the new Defender will surpass all JLR products that have gone before it.
