Took it for a drive and the pedal sticks when I put it in gear and for a few seconds. Seems to stick less when i dont actually have it in gear. I like the softer pedal but I keep stalling it when the pedal sticks..then it unsticksvand pops the clutch lol

Fitted mine using the cable toe technique. Also bent the two flanges in slightly so the ends of the spring go through enough. Spring was moving to one side and I could not see the end of the spring past the plastic insert. Gave it a good squirt of white grease. Felt a bit sticky when pressed but after a few days that is no longer the case. I think I was over exerting pressure on it to begin with. Noticable difference......

I know this is going to be a stupid question and I’ll pre-warn you that I’m not mechanically minded however I’ve purchased one of these and like most on here struggling to get it on so...

Got me thinking, I though clutches themselves have springs in them and once I removed the LR spring from the clutch pedal and the pedal works as normal so why not just remove the old one?

Is the clutch pedal spring just to stop rattles? Only asking as I’ve had to move the Defender without the new spring in and it drove fine Embarassed

Just an update on my findings after having the spring fitted for just over two weeks and a short 500 miles.

The pedal did get stuck down once or twice in the first week but now I have got used to the lighter feeling pedal it’s not really been a problem.

I have to agree it feels much better now and an improvement over the standard spring, with the added bonus of smoother gear changes.

I would also suggest that you giving it a few days and see how you get on with the new pedal feel!

Has anyone left the horse shoe bush off the back of the clutch pedal? I can’t get mine to slide all way down the recess in the clutch arm.

Had one fitted over the weekend to MY2015 truck. Noticeable improvement. Makes for smoother gear changes and I find it really compliments my ECU remap and slickshift. Well worth doing. On a side note i found the clutch pedal did initally have a sticky feel becasue i was pressing too hard. Soon got used to it and no issues since Thumbs Up

Not sure how you guys managed to fit this, but I dropped by my indie this afternoon because he was excited to fit one.

90 min and much swearing later, we admitted defeat and put the old spring back in Shocked

the plan is to remove the pedal box and then fit it on the bench, unless there's a foolproof way to do it in situ? --

I needed a metal tye wrap and a vice to squeeze it in.
Plastic tye wraps just snapped.
