Yes, why wouldn't you want to have balanced rear tyres? 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

Hence the question; wasn't sure so asked. All tyres are balanced as best they can be, but the big mud tyres get a slight wobble at 55mph+ so thought sticking some beads in the front would sort it.

Ah. Put them in the front, then. For info I found I needed approx 8oz (225g) of beads in each of my 255/85 BFG KM2s, so you may need more than you expect.

Cheers Blackwolf. I’m probably being a bit OCD about it as it is only very slight, but it will annoy me if I don’t sort it. I’ll see how it is after and order the rears if necessary.

I have standard recommendation Dynabead weight in my tyres on which are also 255/85 too. But they have been balance and have weights fitted too though. I’m not sure if Blackwolf does have weights on his as well or not but I’d go for recommended weight first. If that doesn’t solve it then go up to the weight BW mentioned. Mines been fine so far, at higher speeds they are smooth as silk. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

No weights on mine, just beads because (1) I hate weights for various reasons* and (2) my local tyre dealer can't mount Blindos on his balancing machine!
* Reasons why I hate weights:-

The only reason I have weights on is because they were fitted before the beads. If it wasn’t for that I’d have just gone with the beads like BW did. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Well, I put 6oz in each and can’t really tell the difference. I still get a wobble at 55-60. Just passed MOT a few weeks ago so I’m pretty confident and all the steering and bearings are ok. I’m on Goodyear MTRs, is it worth sticking a few more oz in each?

Even more stupid question for those with these fitted. Do you hear the beads at all? |
