Unfortunately the reveal just confirmed all my fears. |

Same here, why so predictable as well.
That's what set the Puma and its previous generations apart from the rest and was that it wasn't a soft roader. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

I went to see the new Defender yesterday and... I really like it. I will buy one, to replace my Discovery 4. And I will also keep my original Defenders.

Hi Waldorf,
Was there as much room in the back of the new Defender as the D4? Did the one you look at have the 3rd row of seats? My concern over the new 110 as a replacement for D4 is a reduction in load/passenger space. Last edited by lohr500 on 27th Sep 2019 8:01am. Edited 1 time in total |

I think that's quite a telling statement.
So, I have a D3 for my off roading, going shooting etc. Can I see me using the new Defender for that type of work? I know it's capable and more, however the D3 gets a battering, cattle rub up against it, and as it's not worth £60K and doesn't have a £3k satin wrap on it, I am not 100% precious about it. If I used the new Defender for this, each time it got a dent the wrap would have to come off (I have heard a few horror stories from a friend who owns a body shop). The repair bills would be staggering. I have a 110 Wolf because I still love the looks, basic-ness and ruggedness and I don't have to be precious at all. So, the new Defender sort of fits in but as another vehicle, not a replacement. Does it replace my Range Rover Sport Supercharged. NO, unless I had the X with 400bhp but even then, its not a V8!! 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

SO I had an email from Land Rover late last night inviting me to preview the new Defender at Halewood or Solihull.
By the time I clicked on the link they were fully booked. Glad I went to Frankfurt to see it! 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

But surely you didn't put the D3 to that use when brand new, even if it wasn't a £60K spec? I'm assuming once the new Defender is 10/15 years old, it will be at least as suitable as a 10/15 yo Disco. |

No, the new Defender is not as spacious as the D4. D4 has 7 real seats, the new Defender only has 5 + 2 seating arrangement. The third row seats are only for children or emergency use, much like the Range Rover Sport. To me the D4 was the most practical car ever, with its huge boot. On the plus side: second row seating is very comfortable, with lots of leg room. |

Is the yet to be released '130' going to have a 7-seat configuration?

From the blurb the 130 sounds more like a people carrier.
