I can't help with your question Tony, but I was toying with the idea of doing something similar myself, especially since I saw at Peterborough that (MudUK I think?) are about to start selling a 3D printed double DIN centre part.
However, where abouts can we get a complete td5 centre console from? They don't seem that common place on ebay. Chris. 2005 Td5 90 XS 1989 V8 110 CSW |

I might be able to help with that problem Chris. I have a new style td5 dash spare in my garage... let me see if I can dig it out tomorrow.
What are you thinking? Copying one and making your own?? 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car) 2009 - current .... 2005 zx10r |

Hello Gazman,
No I was just thinking of replacing my entire (1989) grey dash with it. However after saying I haven't found them on ebay, I went and had a closer look and actually there are a few around - once even includes the gauges and buttons which would save me a bit. Currently umm'ing and ahh'ing over pushing the buy now button 2005 Td5 90 XS 1989 V8 110 CSW |

I bought only the back panel with the center consol for doing the same on my -99 Td5. I had to cut some of the lower part of the original dash to get the center consol fitted. I also found the controls for the extern air vents has been relocated a bit on later versions so I had to cut a little bit on the plastic panel so that it is possible to operate the vents with the original controls. But if can buy the hole dash, than these problem will not occure -99 Td5 90 CSW

here's a TD5 dash I was watching on ebay, but the seller wont ship to US. Seems like a great deal.

There was an instructor at a Land Rover training day I attended that said he did the mod and there were over 200 pieces needed to be swapped. Mike

Or, just put in a MUD Stuff unit! I was thinking of doing the later dash as well in my 2000 MY but this is way simpler and, to me, very functional. Good luck

raptor is a lot more useful than a std panel
the stereo doesnt fall out off road the switches are cheaper as well. if you do the swap then use good quality plugs on the back and proper connectors on the switches. |
