Perhaps part of the film is the reveal - all the crap falls off revealing something that looks remarkably like the old Defender? |

I remember the first time I saw an L322 RR and it was something different and quite something to behold. The Disco3 had the same shock value, although maybe it took people longer to warm to it. I was hoping for a similar reaction with the new Defender, but it is just a bit meh (as the kids say). Not bad, but not in anyway impressive. Hopefully it's ability and features will be enough to blow our socks off instead, which I guess is the more important thing. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

If that’s a film set one I would guess from a brand point of view LR will want it showing off at its absolute best and that’s obviously a plain Jane model. That may be an expendable vehicle used for distance shots of it being blown up. I would love to think they have a trick SVO version for some scenes like the spectre defender. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

As previously said, good mass produced/mass market replacement for older Discovery's. It will sell well I am sure.

With luck all the crap will fall off and an SAS Series 2 Pink Panther is revealed. On another thought, don’t the bad guys in Bond films have a union. Surely with what happened to the Spectre 110’s they might have thought having a lesser version would be a bad idea for world domination. |

Apologies for the horrendous Photoshop job but what on earth have they actually been doing for the last 8 years?

I was looking at a 5-door Freelander 2 as I sat in a traffic queue on my way home just now and was struck by how similar the F2 is to that photo. If you smoothed off the sharp edges of the F2, that's pretty much what you get.
It's a bit like the illegitimate spawn of a Freelander 2 and a Discovery Sport! I must say however that tl my eyes it is the least unattractive new vehicle from Landrover for a long time, far better than the hideous Velar or Disco 5, which in my book rate amongs the most ugly vehicles of this century. |

I'm with blackwolf, It looks OK even in the base spec, the recent LR models all look really bad in base spec the velar and the D5 begin to look ok with the dynamic pack and black pack etc. This looks pretty good, it reminds me of my original S spec D3 that i had when it first launched. I loved it, best car i ever owned and way better than the D4's i had. People hated it, the D2 owners i new took the pee for many years and refused to accept it as a Discovery it was just to much tech and now most of them own one 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE

If I had your collection of Land Rover's I wouldn't swap any of them for the new Defender. |

I’ve not found anything on GRMSl. I wonder if the “press image” tomorrow is the one under the drapes? That would be too funny. After almost 24 hours of processing this, it’s maybe starting to grow on me. Compared to competitors offerings at this time, it does look more appealing. I do think the Ford Bronco is going to be a threat to LR in this arena- word is that it’s going to be so retro that even the 1960s Broncos will look futuristic by comparison. Anyhow, this Defender, in Fuji White, Black ragtop, Steelies could start getting my attention. |
