Took the pup canoeing for the first time. He spent more time in the water than in the boat!

Have you just got This? I know the guy that built this truck. Build them to a very high standard up in Northumberland. He used to run a Land Rover independent. Then used it as a test bed for new products he was making. But I never did like the colour of it! Sorry |

Saturday. Drove (up a gorgeous, if narrow, road with cheeky drops), to Champel, the start of one of the most iconic walks in the Mont Blanc region, to the Refuge du Miage. Stunning weather. Beautiful day, great lunch....

Hi, yes recently bought it, it's got some nicely made parts on it and I can tell it's been built with care, lots of little details on it that show the quality. It appears the colour is very 'marmite'... I'm not entirely a fan either |

Replaced the steering drop & ball joint for a new one. No matter how I try, I still have about 5mm gap between the top of the steering arm and the steering box. Removed three times and cleaned splines - torqued up to 178nm and tab washer on.
There is a mark on the old drop arm inner splines that shows around 5mm of none spline wear (if that makes sense) Based on that and other pics on google, I think I am OK. Click image to enlarge Discovered on a test drive the steering wheel ended up a bit out despite thinking nothing had moved, so a chat via Whatsapp with a mate in Spain and I adjusted the front steering rod a few turns, now the steering wheel is sitting better. 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |
