Rear shock absorber replacement 110 2009

Good afternoon all,

So my first post of a technical question and I am sure one of many! 🤣. Please bare with as I’m New to all this so answers need to be in simple language and you need to bare with if you feel the questions are stupid! 🤣

I have had my awesome dream a few weeks and while away for half term left with local indie to have a look over it and fix air con (which has already stopped working! 🙄). One of the points he highlighted was. ‘Rear shock absorbers bushes collapsed and cups rubbing shock mount’ I didn’t ask him at the time but does he mean the bushes in the pictures below?

If so I assume it would be best practice to change both sides at the same time. I.e all four bushes? If this is the case is it really as simple as this good YouTube video suggests??

If so I have the following questions:

1. What bushes should I replace them with? (With your suggestion please highlight brand, link to buying them and cost)
2. What tools do I need?
3. Is there anything else I should be doing when replacing these? Or anything I should be looking out for!?
4. How long a job should this be!! 😂

I am also sorry if there is a post on this but I can not locate one. Also I will probably be asking about front ones later but want to give this a go first. I look forward to the help this awesome forum gives.

Those cups/washers are on the wrong way round. The convex side should be against the bush. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

OK thank you will take note when I try to replace the bushes. I don’t suppose you could recommend what kind of bushes these are and what to replace them with?

And agree that those washer cups are the opposite orientation to how they should be.
Finally the nut does have a Torque spec mentioned in the WSM. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

I swapped from OE to SuperPro lower bushes just because the lower OE ones seem to last about two minutes. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I usually have to replace the rear bushes annually, just before the MOT test, which for me that is about 15k to 20k miles. I use genuine bushes as aftermarket ones seem to be even less durable than genuine.

I don't know why a Puma 110 seems to eat these bushes at such a rate.
