Hi. Don’t have a Pioneer one but an alpine headunit. But look in the wiring diagram of the headunit. Mine has a separate input wire from the gearbox, to identify wheter reverse is engaged. If i engage reverse the reverse camera is automatically displayed. a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

How did you manage to get a wire from the gearbox switch to the HU? I can’t seem to find any obvious path. Instagram.com/mattbuckley19

Under the gearbox there is a switch. You can trace back the wire from there. a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover

Yes. You can get video cable with an integral power cable. With tails both ends. I have one in mine so the reverse light triggers the headunit to switch automatically. Only have to run one cable then but does both jobs. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html Instagram - @r22oyp Roy |

Could I ask what camera you have, and where it’s mounted? 2005 TD5 90 CSW XS

I’ve seen reversing cameras up high replacing the back screen washer position then that is moved lower down, seems a good place. 2005 TD5 90 CSW XS

Depending on desired use.
Mine overview when backing up. Camera high up next to the washer. If you want it to couple trailers i would put in the recess of your rear member. Seen a lot of those as well. a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover |
