Ahhhh. The Td5 tank. The gauge is only of use to those in the know.
Mine is (roughly) 100 miles before needle even comes on to the gauge from being overfull, then second 100 miles takes me to half way, then third 100 miles till light comes on and my new Td5. Then you conk out as your out of fuel. Andy. |

Used to drive mine using the mileage as an indicator of when to fill up - fill up, drive 300 miles & repeat, etc. Gauge seemed to have a mind of its own

The gauge is not linked to the ECU.
The Td5 rear-mounted tank is a slightly larger capacity than the 300Tdi/earlier side-mounted tank. |

Ah good stuff! My HDI is sort of linked to the ECU, so it doesnt really give a proper reading, i thought the TD5 was simliar. The ECU looks like its the same unit as the VVC k series Mems 2j, which is interesting, The lads at work seem to have taken more of a liking to this one, my mate has already got some plans for when we have our shut down. I renewed the insurance on it too yesterday which came at £540 so its gone up a £100, which i am not too bothered about, the 306 halved this year, so in away we are still good Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Ok a nice little update, rolled out one of those replacement jobs, basically to tidy it up.
The driver side had the cover missing, so I gave the mechs a spray and then put the replacement cover on, Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I moved the seat cover fabric in better to make it neater after the photo was taken, looks like the seats have had a revamp a short time ago. I reworked rubber fill thing back into place on the pass base. Also MOT failure? Pedal rubbers Click image to enlarge Sorted with a new pair Click image to enlarge looks much better now, My sister got her arse in it for the very 1st time the other day, She said its much better and more comfy than my old one, not to mention it was warmer lol. Two chavs at the bank were looking at me, in a citron thing, not sure if they were planning on checking the thing out, but they were in for suprise, i off lol. But it was seaham where i parked so it says it all, it might have been the two who took the other one. But like i said this ones going now where this time Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Well something in the post came this morning, another upgrade, a really good one too!
Was one of two to trial these when grafty launched these. So I thought its only fair to ask him for another set for this one. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge after Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Now I have a better blower system Cheers again grafty! A must really for us Defender owners! Not sure what I have planned yet, got to claw back a few quid due to the insurance. I may give the interior an upgrade as such with new door cards ( black) and a light upgrade. but we will see what we can roll out 1st. We had a look around this one in further detail and i gave it a right old de soil under. It was no where near as bad as the 300 TDi. But i still had a dust pan full in all corners. My dad pushed out a dent in the bottom corner while he was taken a break from hedge trimming, looks miles better now, It really did bug the life out of him lol. sounds like a plan my dad decided to switch to the same light setup that I had. I am trying to find the same bull bar I had on my old one. But I think I can sing for that. ( my old one I was wanting to add some spot lamps, which I want to do to this one. With the proper loom been on the table etc. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
