Thanks fella . i thought it might be something like that !You will also prevent any later 2.2 owners from making the mistake i did!Perhaps any 2.2 owners can confirm skidrov's post that its all 2.2 (2012 changes)motors are affected or is it the my2015 models (August 2014) when they made changes to the ecu and alarm modules.

Im fat,grey,58 year old remainer and I follow SAFC..so I am used to dssappointment junky ..I hope you dont think I was wasnt getting at you?......... Caveat emptor is my motto... I was just about to make a obd2 security loom and I wanted something quick and cheap to test the connection and it will do this for me as it establishes a connection ,it just does not recognise the model. Thumbs Up

No worries, it's all good. Thumbs Up
Anyway, Puma owners will already have had plenty of disappointments, so no point in making it worse for them. Rolling with laughter

What's an obd2 security loom?

Its where you remove the wires from the standard obd2 port molex connectorand connect thm to female connector of your choice. Then you make a short loom with the original molex connector at one end and the male version of the new connector at the other end .
Result is there is no standard obd2 port for the thieves to plug into and you have a short loom that allows you to use the standard port for diagnostics servicing ect. Some folk leave the original connector in place with dummy wires (or a positive feed to the connector)so that the thieves spend time trying to get it to work rather than immediatle seeing there is no obd2 port and moving on.
