Had a minor niggle with the lamps, from cold they don't switch off when going back onto dipped beam. E H Douglas swapped the relay for a new one so will see how it goes.
Localish dealer swapped my light switch for a genuine one after a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, bit disappointing that everything else I asked for (eg rusting bumper, loose trim in rear body) they just said "no your extended warranty doesn't cover that". Maybe not, but it would be good to ask and make sure, or offer *something* by way of courtesy. Almost 86,000 miles now too... 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

Hit 86k yesterday. Still running just fine.
Getting a bit worried about this corrosion by the rear doors though, on both sides. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |

Great to see your having some trouble free miles, but that corrosion doesn't look good

Problem is warranty wont touch it. I'll probably get my local place to have a look. It seems to be where ally and steel are together. I did ask years ago about it but dealer didn't want to know, and that was before the corrosion warranty had expired! 2011 110 USW

At least you know that the warranty does not cover it ( yes i know the dealership does not want to know ) and you can get it sorted with someone you can trust to do the work properly

If you logged a fault before he end of the warranty then you can go back outside of warranty for it usually ![]() |

Corrosion warranty only kicks in for perforated metal (ie it has to have a hole) and only lasts 5 years and cannot be extended. 2011 110 USW

So I made a fairly big change. Can't decide if I like the look. It looks a bit "delicate" to me, but I expect the surge in mpg will make up for it 😂

Hello mate, long time no see, hope all is going OK. Not that you have done this but this is an example where knowing where to treat is vital with ACF-50/Dinitrol etc. Having your chassis just blasted from underneath with Waxoyl is next to useless. Dealerships won,t know any better either. Getting them done from new or as near new as possible saves so much grief in the future. You have to get into every nook and cranny with the right product... and it is best to do it yourself. This area is constantly wet, caused mainly by leaking and a mud trap from underneath. Pressure wash in this area underneath and it will come up through inside as it just has sealant pushed in. If you hold a torch on the undersideside you can see the light coming through to identify gaps. Also there is a cavity underneath that collects muck, you access it via a bung from underneath. WARNING do not mistake it for the B post bung, spray up into that and you will coat the inside of vehicle all over your seats ![]() ![]() |

This is a very, very common problem, and I don't actually remember ever seeing a four-door 110 or 130 which hasn't had rust and strange white corrosion products at this location. Incidentally, how come your rear inertia reels are not bolted down here? It's where the brackets for them are fitted on my DC. Had you unbolted them, or are they somewhere else? |

It's a different arrangement on a station wagon. They're higher up behind the rear side trim. Darren
