Absolutely. Big difference, it is now as light as the wife’s mini and arguably smoother. Well worth £25.

Well along with reporting that the indicators had failed yesterday (separate thread ) S.H.M.B.O. also complained that she was fed up with having her left leg ache because the clutch is stiff and that its been like that ever since we purchased it ( she is having to do all the driving due to my illness). So I opened up the DHL package that arrived on Thursday and showed her the new spring that had arrived , told her that I had ordered it on recommendation of members of the forum and that it should make life easier for her, so what with fixing the indicators and alarm I should have banked a sack full of brownie points that is when I get the spring fitted. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

If you do use tie wraps just a word of warning...………….make sure you use a decent size and quality . I have had four snap causing the spring to fly off took me half an hour trying to find were it had landed in the garage and I was lucky the second time at it pinged around inside the land rover after glancing off my temple. Just got my truck back after a number of jobs,
I also had a mid spec LOF clutch kit fitted as well as a new DMF flywheel, and of course the spring Overall it's years better It previously Rama ceramic clutch plate that was replaced due to a rear main oil seal leak, The clutch is smooth and not "grabby" like the previous one, Much easier on the foot, some people have asked about the spring pushing. The release bearing onto the clutch when released, the spring seems to work in both directions ( I think it's witchcraft or something ) defo helps depressingt He clutch and it also holds the pedal ,up" when not being used, Early days but happy for sure and the spring mod is worth the bucks from me I would say |

Fitted mine today. You lot using the cable tie method must have some pretty special cable ties. I tried it with some fairly chunky ones and they failed immediately. Anyway, after much swearing I managed to to fit it the LOF way with some needle nose pliers. A lot of swearing but got there in the end. It’s impirtant make sure the pedal is pushed hard to the floor.
First impressions are that it is noticeably lightly although it feels like it almost goes over centre at the very end of travel. I was worried that the pedal wouldn’t come back up, but it seems fine. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

I did try with the pilers just could not get the force! That said im in an XS footwell with rubber matting I cant really remove! Cable ties work but you must release the pressure very slowly took me a good hour n 30 to fit.
Driving though is such a huge difference, ive done roughly 600 miles now through mixed driving inc a weekend off road and it is fantastic. My left leg is very happy! Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |
