Droopy Wing?
I've inspected, got underneath, checked all suspension parts and cannot find any previous signs of damage or any body panel being removed however the more I look closely at the front it looks like the passenger side is a little more droopy than the driver's. You can use the bumper as a reference point and notice that there's no visible gap as the other side. Of course, I could just be talking nonsense. It is usual for the panels not to be perfectly straight? Like I said, I can't see any sign of panels being repaired, replaced and no signs of any suspension/drivetrain being worked on. Also, the one piccy shows a bit of a gap on the passenger door. The photo actually makes it look far more worse that it actually is.

What do you think? Just LR build quality?

That door gap is impressive for a Defender. You could drive a bus under mine!
I think that due to the 'hand fettled' nature of assembly, no two are the same. When I first got mine I looked out for others when I was out and about to compare things like this. You soon get used to it. You're never going to get the perefct gaps you get with something like an Audi, and thats all part of its character!

If you open the door, check if the corner is removing paint from the sill as it opens and closes. If not it is o.k.
One of your bumper endcaps might need pushed in and is making things look out of kilter but I would say with a handbuilt vehicle it looks o.k. the me. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Mine is the same, two others I checked out at the dealer are also like that, seems to be more pronounced on versions with aircon grille. 2011 110 USW

Mines the same. It looks as though the bumper isn't straight but it's the rest of it that not square! It's actually quite tricky putting it all together to get it to line up - even top end rebuilds can be out of kilter, imagine doing it on a "production line" under pressure for time Shocked Having said that you might be able to strip it all off, inner wings etc etc and may improve on it slightly but I wouldn't bother Thumbs Up

Mine is the same, and the one prior to that but I don't recall it being so pronounced on any of the TD5's or earlier ones I've owned ...but that may just be my dodgy memory. Steve.

When I was at school doing my A levels I worked part time at Tesco stacking shelves. On the odd occasion they'd make us go and help out in the butchery department. I have no doubt things have moved on in the last 30 years but I've never bought meat from Tesco since Rolling with laughter

Have a look in a mercedes-benz factory how some things are done at a high price tag then pass judement.For a 60's design that is available now in it's original guise,I think:bow: .I want to see the gripes when it is no longer. Puma 110 SW

Mercedes is not a good current example. A "premium" car prone to rusting after a couple of years? The ML constantly near the bottom of reliability surveys? No no and no.

For lessons in how to make a car look to Porsche, BMW and Lexus. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Audi are great until they go wrong as a dealer cant deal with anything over a routine service

A lot depends on the model actually... Wink Some BMs (like mine) are VERY reliable. Others are average, mainly petrol models like the dire 20i unit.

Audis are poor at the moment.

Dont worry ken - you cant tell a BMW driver anything...its a trait they all carry, like not understanding what indicators are for and having to carry their ego around on a 40t truck

And BTW all cars have good and bad days - reliability surveys a about as much use as a chocolate tea cup in hell Mike
