FORScan OBDII scanner works on PUMA 2.4 TDCI
Following another members post about FORScan, I too have just successfully connected FORScan to my PUMA using a cheap usb adapter (ebay eBay Item No. 153070327324), Windows 10 laptop and FORSCan 2.3.16 BETA https://forscan.org/download.html

Screen shots attached. (I have deleted my VIN number from these)

Please note, so far I have only viewed settings and faults. I have not performed any resetting or learning functions, although the other member has confirmed that pump and pilot learning functions work. Very Happy

It probably does the engine side of things - thinking it's a Ford Transit.

The advantage with the Land Rover specific tools is you can also do the ABS and Security stuff. But then they are paid for.

Yes, it's a cheap solution that should help DIY Defender owners keep their 'transit' engines running Very Happy

Apart from being able to execute the service routines that are now assessable, one clear benefit of the forscan is being able to graph fuel pressure (desired) against fuel pressure (actual) thus checking the health of the entire low and high pressure system including rail sensor and VCV in my case over a 15 minute drive at various speeds and loads. Great free software! Obviously you can add many sensors to the graph CHT, fuel temperature e tc e tc to help with fault finding. My vehicle was simply overdue for a VIV clean and pump re-learn.

Another vote from me for ForScan.

Used it to do Pump Learn and Pilot Correction - talked me through the whole process giving me all the requirements to allow it to complete such as fuel temp and coolant temp.

Another + for Forscan. I could test and remove (so far) some stouborn DTCs. Pump and injector calibrations done. I could not do it neither with SDD nor Nanocom.

It also reads all injectors 16 digit codes which is nearly impossible unless you use a 10-20x handlens. Puma 110" SW

Mine has only the ECU and the 10AS. No ABS, ETC or anything else. I'd like to try the FORscan in addition to the Nanocom.

The whole thing is to get a obd2 plug that works. I reckon it needs to be Elm327 with HS capability. A generic elm327 wont work. Puma 110" SW

I read this thread and bought a lead from the link. It arrived today and I can confirm it works fine.
I have a question to the people that are more familiar with forscan.
Is there a way of checking if the injectors have been
Set up correctly or do you have to do the re learn ?
Cheers
Tom
