I've got the plastic ones and once fitted you can hardly notice them, much better than torn corners

I saw somewhere recently somebody used a black plastic external fascia like linked below
https://www.roofingsuperstore.co.uk/produc...black.html I can't seem to find the thread/page now... Perhaps I dreamt it? |

I’ve just put some layers of Gorilla tape on mine, they weren’t split but thought this would protect them.

Is anybody aware of a similar product existing for the footwell/a pillar corner where the covering wears through?
edit: answered my own question - they do yes! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283232867613 Last edited by hank on 6th Nov 2018 10:46am. Edited 2 times in total |

Mine were completely shredded and about 2 years ago I put some gaffer tape on them as a temporary stop gap measure.
The gaffer tape has survived much better than the original rubber stuff ever did and I've still not got round to fixing it properly. |

These corner protectors are a very good idea, I've seen some affixed with double sided tape rather than drill holes in the seat box.

They are good, but the screws are not so good in my opinion.
I found they wouldn't nip up at all, went in and sound spin and I certainly didn't overtighten them And only happened with a couple. Easily rectified but annoying. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

The corner protectors are good in what they do, but they are not kind to my door cards and the top of the corner protector in time ........................
Click image to enlarge as you can see there is wear on the top corner and this is what my door cards are like now ........... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Yes you can not see the wear marks when the door's are closed but they are an easy spot when the door is open and very annoying when cleaning the door cards 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Mines pretty similar to that, and with Dynamat under too adds a mm or two.
Cannot understand why LR made the fit that close, this is why the rubber matting often splits on the corners too due to pressure on them from the door cards. No Guts, No Glory. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
