Light bars and fitting. No holes wanted...
Hi all.

I'd like a couple of light bars... One at the front and one at the back..

But I really don't like the idea of drilling holes in the roof. What suggestions do people have on fitting them without holes? Regards
Adam

Mount them on a roof rack or similar or, at the back at least, on CB aerial gutter mounts. Depends on the size of light, of course.

Routing the wiring is usually the more difficult task, and there are various options depending on how much of a compromise on aesthetics that you're willing to accept. For example, some have routed wires through the door seals, along (or inside) snorkels or used more easily replaceable parts such as the number plate plinth as the location for a drilled hole. There's no one solution that will suit everybody though. Darren

I thought of running the wires along the inside of the rack, then from centre at the rear down and through rear washer jet hole through a grommet (never use rear wash anyway). Just plug washer hose so it can be re instated later on.

If wire were to be unsightly, make a plate from roof rack to cover wire. The plate can be sprayed or powder coated.

It's on my list to do at some point

For roof mounted ones, I've seen people run the cable down the A pillar, either in or behind the snorkel and into the engine bay. Won't work if you don't have snorkely though. For the front, mount in front of the grille with a A bar. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Fitted mine on the weekend on the underneath of the rack. You could do the same with a roof bar. Wiring as said above I routed the wiring in through the corner of the door and a pillar. 👍

Thanks for the heads up peoples..

I like the idea of running the cables down the A bar. I have done the same with my cb aerial.

And again with the washer hole.. Idea good thinking Regards
