Swapping rear panels.
I’ve now got a pair of utility side panels painted, new seals, and am ready to fit them.

Anybody else done this?
Any advice?

I’ve been told that I do not have to remove the complete roof to fit panels, but what do I have to do? I know back door hinge has to come off, trim around the rear windows, and part of the ceiling lining. But how much of the lining?

Thanks in advance
Andy.

It can be done by unbolting the roof from the sides and then easing the roof up enough to swap the panels over. Prop the roof with some timber - it only needs to be lifted a couple of inches. You'll have to take out enough of the roof to give access to the bolts, which will be at least the rear and centre sections. Darren

Thank you. Fixings for ceiling are reusable or should I buy new for refitment.

Andy.

You should be able to reuse them if you take them out carefully. I've had the lining out of mine twice and reused the fixings without issue. Darren

Fixings are reusable - just nuts and bolts.

I did almost the same thing last week (some pics on my 'tinkering' thread - in my sig below). I wasn't replacing roof panels though, just adjusting them, but it's effectively the same thing. You might need to get your roof a little higher to be able to clear the corner fixings in the tub.

Good luck! Donald

Thanks. I’ve got the panels, and had them sprayed for me.

Should have bought new fir fixings for ceiling lining though. Everyone apart from two snapped. I’m sure I would have had more success if it was above 3degrees C today Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil

Thanks I’m very pleased with how it looks.

Got to clean the CSW rear panels up, and get them listed for sales to get some of the outlay back now.
