Spent the day blasting around the lanes of the Cheshire Housewives, looking for clues and taking pics n junk, for a Car Club Annual Treasure Hunt.
There were some nice toys there, even Porsche sent a few staff and cars to play. I'm biased, but here's my favourite 2 'cars'!! |

Sent the defender away to my local back street garage to fit a set of boost hoses from BAS, suspecting a split somewhere.
No different but definetley sounds like there's a boost leak coming from somewhere. Intercooler? 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

^^^ Millie's intercooler had a hole in it and a bit more black smoke came out more than normal, the only way i found out this was the oil building up on my front grill, all in my thread 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Not the defender but the P38. It had a new alternator fitted last week and then Mrs H reported the key fob wouldn’t work. It took me a while to link the two but the battery disconnect had killed the sync with the key fobs. The dash was also full of error messages. I called Dave Hodgetts at 4x4 Development and popped over at lunchtime. The normal key resync routine wasn’t working so he hooked it up to an Autologic diagnostic tool. Apart from the drivers door all the doors were super locked and not unlocking, so a safety issue. He sorted it all out, not straightforward, and got one key synced but the spare wasn’t having it. It is booked in for a few weeks time to try and find the cause of the central locking cycling. Dave has the original diagnostic tool for the P38s wrapped in cotton wool and will gently bring it to life! It may be as simple as a bad earth, who knows. Great guy and superb knowledge.
I hadn’t driven the P38 for a few weeks and it was great to get back behind the wheel, such a smooth and relaxing drive (now all the error messages have gone) Happy tinkering 👍 |

Today I enjoyed a very foggy drive to work. I desperately wanted to stop and get some photos of The Dutchess in the fog, but would of ended up getting caught in all the morning rush/school traffic, which is never fun......

Did some 'touting' for new properties. Love this time of year, beautiful light, and so quiet. Devoid of tourists. But there are occasional traffic jams...

Loving those last few pics! Difficult to find stunning unspoilt prestine woodland like that.
Today, I just nipped out with the trailer. Back end is a bit more stiffer now and nicer since I replaced all the rear ARB bushes and flipped the ARB over too. Need to get the front done next too whilst I'm at it. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Gave the old 300Tdi its first wash and polish for a long time.
It will no doubt get rather grubby this winter.... Click image to enlarge |

Hitched up the trailer and went to collect a 2ltr Siamese Bore engine from a friend in the Lake District. Its an engine for parts to rebuild my original 53 engine in this baby.
