Good grief Donald you have a very high opinion of my abilities...
![]() ![]() ![]() I have ordered a lot of small items over the last couple of weeks including the above switches, but the retaining rings were for these; ![]() Click image to enlarge I will do a separate post on them later, what I will say is WOW...! |

That might have been me as I described it on my build thread, although I think Lightningweeds first suggested it some time ago. I went with 2mm holes, which seem to do the job. Once full with grease, it's stayed in place so I don't think any sort of cap is necessary. ![]() Click image to enlarge Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? ![]() It does seem like lots of the good stuff for Defenders is a bit spendy: "that'll be £x hundred pounds sir" - where x is a figure > 2 or 3. But hey, that's what money's for! I suppose I should be grateful that 'the boss' isn't a member here! Ok... Exciting bit arrived today... The final bit to fill the last hole in the Mud Pod... Oh yeah... I think that looks like it will do the job nicely.
Just got to wire it all up now; ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge I have also figured out what I am going to use as the flood lights and how best to mount them. Still working on the routing of the wiring, especially from outside to inside without creating too much of a water ingress problem... More to follow on this. |

How long's that list for the rebuild U-R...?!?!
![]() ![]() This one I hope is a top tip... I now have all the paint and gear ready to begin the hinge painting project. Have to say thanks to Foundry 4x4 for getting the last of the hinges out to me so quickly ![]() Just need a dry few hours to get it started ![]() ![]() |

Well... that’s that little job done. Miffy now has a full compliment of painted standard door hinges and by eco the old ones were much worse than I thought. Not one of the original hinges were what you’d call in serviceable condition and two had hinge pins that were completely broken
![]() ![]() It is a strange thing having doors that shut at the push of a finger... ![]() If people are interested in the process I am happy to write a short post on what I did. For now though here are some photos of the hinges and the road they have taken; ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Well there you go... 200,000 miles old and still going strong. I realise she is but a baby in the eyes of some of the TD5s on this forum, but it is still a big number.
You know what they say; You’re only 200,000 once... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge |
