Could you not fit a puma rear fuel tank and sender? You would have to adjust the mounts, but it should fit fine between the chassis rails.

That's one option I'd not thought about but sounds fairly involved. I'm hoping there's a 'electronic' fix I can do |

Can you measure the "full" and "empty" resistance of your sender? 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

I guess so using my multimeter. I'm thinking if I got the same info from a puma sender, I could follow the guide from Geobloke but with a bit more know how? |

2.4 Puma is the same as a Tdi and Td5. Haven't measured a V8 or petrol sender so can't advise without measurements 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

So if I can fit a TDi sender in my tank which might be a little easier rather than try the TDCi one, it will be accurate on the gauge?? EBAY here I come.......... |

In theory yes - my side tank sender (1988 TD) works the Puma gauges nicely, same as the rear tank sender (Td5).
However, get a multimeter on your existing one to see what's going on with the Ohms first. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |
