Yes they are easy to fit. If your gearbox has seen a lot of use budget for a new selector turret as well (FRC7155) as the slot can be quite worn and cause extra slop in the gear stick.
They are... OK! |

it didn't make that much difference... my gearbox had 3k miles on it
and it just rattled like crazy until I wrapped it in lots of tape and hammered the gearstick on |

Yes. Had mine on for 6 months, need to cover the shaft with tape to stop any vibration...

2014 plate 90, slick shift been on 2 years, never had any rattling, just put copious amount of good quality general purpose high melting point grease on as per the fitment video and you'll have no issue.
I would not go back to standard gearshift as I much prefer the shorter shift |

Presumably you are both referring to the Puma version?

I would say it is worth doing on an LT77 box - I find it just makes it a bit less vague Matt.

I've got one on an LT77 and it doesn't rattle and has a nicer shorter throw, I'd certainly recommend it for a Land Rover gearbox, but judging by the above its not so suitable for Transits

I’ve got one on my Puma and aside from the tape on the gearstick requirement, it’s a world apart from my parents much newer defender which doesn’t have one. North Cumbria Search and Rescue - Team Leader

I fitted mine last week, and its being awkward...
my turret doesn't look warn, but I am having serious issues with gear selection, its been adjust 3 times now (I have watched every video going and followed the instructions to the T, and still had no luck...), and this evening im doing a video call with the guy who makes them... my issue at present is that I can change up the gears ok but when I change down it doesn't want to engage. so I will see what happens after my call this evening. So far when it does want to work it feels good, but that's just not very often at present. Please report back Adam. You're post above struck a chord with me. I fitted a new turret at the same time as my slick shift.
The box is an Ashcroft R380, but it has been in for about 14 years and done ca. 165k miles. Like you I tried adjusting it by the book, and got it 'roughly' OK. I ran it like that for several months but then it did get harder to shift down into fourth and second. I assume the new nylon cup in the selector had 'bedded in' causing some marginal extra movement. So at the moment, I'm running the car without the sound deadening insert and the gaiter so that I can do small tweaks 'on the fly'. I think I'm just about there - in the sense that it's at its least bad setting - but it's still not as good as I'd like. Like yourself, going up the box is OK, unless I'm pushing hard up a hill in 3rd and going to 4th, but trying to come back down again into 4th or 2nd doesn't always go well. If you get any good stuff from your calls, please pass it on!
