10mm+ shim wheel spacers?

Is there anywhere in the UK which sells shim type spacers for the defender?

I'd like to run 285 75 16 on some boosts but Blackwolf had pointed out, with 30mm spacers they'll throw mud down the sides my 90 even with gwyn lewis mud flap extensions.

I think there's enough thread to safely run 10mm, although 15mm might be pushing it. 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

If you fit longer wheel studs though they are safer than normal spacers Thumbs Up

With the size of LR tyres and wheel arches, I'm not sure that 10mm is worth the effort. I think I'd struggle to tell the difference Confused Darren

I don't disagree, in order of my preference:

Ideally i'd like a set of 20mm hub-centric spacers
15-20mm slip on spacer with 60mm studs
10mm slip on spacer with normal studs 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW
1956 Series 1 Hard-top
1958 Series 1 Soft-top

I was always led to believe that 30mm was the minimum thickness of bolt-on spacers due to the thickness of the LR wheel nuts and the need for there to be enough metal beneath them for adequate strength. Darren

I'm not sure, they make hubcentric 20mm spacers for V8 diesel landcruisers and plenty of high power cars? I guess you have to use some common sense, if you're going to be towing 3.5T regularly or youre going to be loaded down for an expedition, then you don't use spacers at all.

My 90 is just a restoration project that'll see light use, maybe some light/medium green lanes. 1993 200 Tdi 90 CSW

If want to do 70mph occasionally with wide and heavy 33" mud tyres, that are notoriously hard to balance, then spacers may not be a good idea for that either!
