Def unlocking itself
Hi Chaps, I done a search on this topic but only came up with one thread which didn't really help much.
This morning when I got to work I locked the 90 with the zapper and walked away, next thing I heard the door unlock and alarm went off, I thought I must have triggered the zapper by mistake so I locked it again and paid special attention to not trigger the zapper again, same thing, doors unlocked and alarm went off Shocked ... so I proceeded to lock all doors with the key and look at it later...no problem until I locked the drivers door...then about 2 sec after locking the drivers door it just popped open again and alarm went off again, done this a few times until it eventually latched and I was able to walk away, I don't think it will come right by itself, any ideas?

Had this with mine was the central locking actuator in the drivers door. About £20 ish from main dealer.

Thanks for the tips guys, never dealt with one before, how do you go about testing to find out which one?
Interestingly a few weeks ago the passenger door stopped locking when I locked drivers side from inside Shocked Optimists say the glass is half full..

It'll be the drivers door one, as that's the one that triggers the alarm. Darren

I would have though that it is most likely to be the driver's door actuator, since this is the only one which will cause all the others to unlock.

If you can access the connectors in the door pillars and disconnect the other doors one at a time that should tell you. With the connectors apart, the door will neither lock nor unlock centrally.

It sounds to me as though the driver's door is mislocking and therefore unlocking itself, and since it controls the others, they are all doing this. I don't see why this is causing the alarm to go off though. Could it be that a door switch (interior light/alarm switch) is faulty and the 10AS thinks that a door is open? I would have though that that would cause a mislock, though, and not let the car lock, you walk away, and then unlock.

If you get in and shut the door, does the interior light turn off as usual (if so it suggests that the door switches are OK)?

(Editted for spelling).

Thanks for that Darren & BW, yes the lights go off as normal so I think you are right about the drivers door actuator, I've ordered one from craddocks, hopefully that will be the end of this chapter in my LR education Thumbs Up Optimists say the glass is half full..

Take out the drivers door lock mech and give it a very thorough clean up and wd40 then when you put it back together make sure all the rods are free moving

I had a similar problem a while back. On mine it was caused by the driver's side door not quite being fully on the second catch. I ended up adjusting the striker slightly so that the lock was fully engaged and that fixed it. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

I found a screw had gone through the alarm loom, it was my own fault, I put new speakers in the front and I had to fit longer screws and one of them cut the wiring, you could hardly see it with the eye but it caused all kinds of havoc. Thumbs Up Optimists say the glass is half full..
