As well as the negative, take the positive off too and check all switches are off.

Just completely isolates everything that way.

Key for safe welding is good ground connection close to the welding point and on the welded part. This will minimize current leakage through rest of the car. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufรญnek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo
