Battery and warranty
My 90 is still under warranty and the battery is no longer what it used to be. I keep my Engel fridge in the back all the time and recently when I try to start the car after having been parked up for a couple of hours the voltage has dropped so low the alarm beeps.

Yesterday it wouldn't start. Fortunately I had a jump pack with me so I could get going. If I turn off the fridge then it's fine, it will start every time. But from a warranty point of view, am I wasting my time trying to get the battery replaced on the basis it can no longer power my fridge?

I think the short answer is yes. I can't imagine LR considering a claim just because it won't power a non-LR accessory. Darren

I think the POV from LR would be that the battery is for cranking the car and is suitable for that purpose so unlikely they would replace under warranty if being used outside of that.

That's what I was afraid of.
I'm not going back to the stone age of not having a fridge running 24/7 so I will probably have to got for that overdue dual battery setup I have been putting off.

Oooh, nice, I like that one. I'll probably replace the main battery with a smaller one but could do something similar.

Ask your local dealer, they wont bother to check what it's powering they'll just put it on a tester and see if it passes. Tell them a couple of times it's been sluggish to crank.

If it fails the test they should replace it. If it passes, they'll just say your fridge is running it down.

Agree with ZSD - just "forget" to tell them about the fridge. Defender 90XS SW

"Tester" I laugh. I while back I had to take a battery back to Halfords. It read 10.6V across the terminals after sirring in a crarger for 24h. Clearly a cell was cone. The fella put the battery in the "tester" and the tester spat out a print-out with a few tests it had done, including overall voltage of 10.6v and then bottom line in capital letters **** PASSED ****

Facepalm...

I might try it with another dealer. My local is beyond useless.
