Sounds like it was faulty in manufacture or it's been damaged at some point. Mine still looks like new after 8 years.

Ah..thank you. Thats interesting. Yes, possibly although it has never been off road so maybe a large stone or something has hit it off the road. The sump pan is showing signs of slight rust all over the front. Like the paint is very thin.... The worse patch is right underneath. 2015 90 XS Santorini Black

On the third one at the moment, the first one was replaced under warranty for the prop shaft problem, the second one lated about 7 years then started weeping oil, the third one has been on for a couple of years now but gave this one a good coat of stone chip paint.

This is quite a common problem on a lot of cars now.
Mk6/7 Transits suffer badly with rusty sumps, as do a lot of Vauxhall’s, Once you get a few stone chips, and the road salt creeps in over winter, it doesn’t take much to start them rusting. It’s just down to cheap part manufacturing, cost cutting etc, Compare a modern sump, to a Series 1 sump.... Best thing to do is give the front face a good coat of Waxoyl, or like above give it a coat of stonechip 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Replace the rusty one, and Dinitrol the new one.

I think my last one I Dinitrolled, lasted for years and years but eventually leaked at the gasket.
Which is not corrosion related at all. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️ Last edited by custom90 on 23rd Jul 2018 5:04pm. Edited 1 time in total |
