Busy yesterday with rear springs. With the defender loaded up to go on holiday last year the rear springs (2:5 inch lowered) felt a bit wallowly and looked very low with the weight so I decided to put some 1 inch lowered springs on for this year so should gain an inch and a half. I actually gained 2 and a half inches so I’m guessing the old ones had settled a lot and the new ones need to settle in a bit.

To stop all the discarded oil from being thrown back through the engine. Ray

So are you going to have to keep an eye on the engine oil level? Plus dispose of the waste oil?

It’s only from the breather on top of the rocker cover so the oil level won’t go down any differently, but what used to be sent through the turbo and engine will now be filtered out to a pipe that has a tap on the end to be drained occasionally. Ray

It will be getting a grommet in there when the job is fully done didn’t bother for now as I might have to take the cowls off again yet. Ray
