Loaded half a van load of display panels in the back, yet the motor tax office said it could not
carry goods as there was no room. This the reason it could not be taxed as a goods vehicle, go figure ! CR Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

UPDATE ON THE TYRE ISSUE.
The dealer refused to adjust the stops to stop the tyre's rubbing on full lock and spent a huge amount of time telling me and proving their point that the tyres would not work on the car. They mentioned that the steering would not come back to centre if they adjusted the stops So instead of them sorting the problem which is less than 5 minutes work they took the line that the 265's are not recommended by LR and should be removed immediately as failure to do so could compromise the safety, performance and warranty of the vehicle. They even got me to sign a letter to this effect. I find it strange that they left the tyre's rubbing which of course is not great when the solution was so easy They also said that they could and would not check the tracking with the standard LR SVX alloys and 265 tyre's as this was like having 22's on a range rover ! and they were not prepared to drive the car as it was dangerous. The tyre's do of course fit ! and do not rub as the stops have been adjusted correctly. Live and Learn |

typical main dealer idiots, 265 tyres are a land rover option and they will also supply a wheel cover for 265 tyres, i hate main dealers i`ve not met one with a brain yet ! LIFE`S TOO SHORT TO DRIVE A BORING VEHICLE

Not sure 265's are still an option but they used to be.
I had the same from a dealer when they said I needed two trackrod ends replaced (not under waranty and 305 quid), I then took it to an independent who said they were fine and then to another dealer who also said they were fine. Bloody dealers! |

I bought a brand new Defender 90 in 1999 with 265 75X16 and that was only available in County spec' as that was due to the fitting of anti-roll bars. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

265 tyres don't currently show on the options list - they used to for a 90 but not a 110?
I asked my local main dealer if they could fit them as an option to mine when it arrives and they said I'd be better fitting them myself as there prices would be a lot higher (note they said they could). I then asked if changing to 265 from 235 would affect my warranty and they said it wouldn't. John http://www.hampshire4x4response.co.uk 2011 Tdci 110 CSW XS |

yes chaps, your right, didn`t check the latest site before i ranted, i remembered seeing them on there a while back, it`s just annoying when dealers who you`d think should know what the`re talking about talk such . and all to many are like that. better off with a lot of the independants.
