For all the boys in IRL car is a 7 seater, VRT is 13.5% and vat is reclaimable as a business expense
as all Defenders are N1 commercial for MY2011. My one is the first to be registered on this basis ( I think ) All the over weight and bulkheads is not an issue as IRL had to comply with new EU law in Jan. I discovered this late last year and then approached the revenue commissioners with all the details. They put up the expected fight ! I then went to Land Rover Ireland with the information, they knew nothing about it surprise surprise. Gave them all the info and got the reply " do you think there are complete eejits working here ?" my reply " you have just answered your own question"!! Eventually the phone call came eh you appear to be correct I must be mad buying another one as I am fighting with the dealer over the rust on my SVX as they and LR will not cover it under warranty but that is another long rant. Apparently corrosion is not covered, JOKE bet it will be !!! |

So CR what your saying is that all new 110 station wagons are now classed as a commercial and can be taxed as so if for business use.
would make the 110 station wagons very appealing then !! N. |

so CR - I was contemplating getting a 5 seater utility and fitting a middle front seat as I need a minimum of 6 but you have just made me a very happy man with your VRT revelations. Whats the actual pricing on the vehicle - please PM if you do not want to publish.
Thanks in advance YB 1993 110 200tdi Utility in Marine Blue Gone - various FFRR, D3's, Discos and a Freelander or two. |

In Ireland
You will be able to tax a new my11 utility due to the load space as a goods vehicle if you sign the declaration that you will not use it for any private use, an estate is a grey area but you could fight the fight with the motor tax office. The VRT are revenue and motor tax is department of the environment. There is not much joined up writing between them. |
